Ten aeronautical engineering graduate students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture have won a competition category usually dominated by US universities.

Aeronautical engineering students from FSB achieved tremendous success by winning the prestigious international design competition organised by the AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics). Their design of the jet trainer aircraft called FSB TX won in the category Graduate Team Aircraft Design Competition – Advanced Pilot Training Aircraft.

The team of ten graduate students, supported by their mentors, designed the best-rated jet trainer aircraft that would be used for training pilots of modern aircraft, such as F22 and F35. Applying the knowledge gained from their studies, using extensive literature and consulting aeronautical experts, the students designed the main aircraft systems (wing, fuselage, propulsion, undercarriage, etc.) within the framework of the objectives that they defined themselves, the requirements of the project task and the MIL standard
