Mechanical Engineering in Energy Transition Conference
Energy transition is moving forward all over the word and brings significant changes to the power generation sector. Decentralized electricity generation, shifting from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, electrification of transport, heating and cooling sector greatly changes the power system we know. All these changes have a significant impact on the role of mechanical engineering in the power engineering sector. The aim of this conference is to present which competencies of mechanical engineers are sought in the upcoming transition market and their role in the energy transition.
The conference will be held on October 24, 2019 in the Grand Hall of the FSB, and is primarily intended for industry representatives, entrepreneurs, politicians, scientists, representatives of civil society organizations and all stakeholders in the energy transition.
Within this conference, participants will find out about the challenges, implications and opportunities that energy transition brings to the mechanical engineers. Possibilities of collaboration between the Faculty and the industry will be presented as well, where entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their work and achievements. Additionally, the panel discussion will be organized within the conference, which will enable dialogue between important stakeholders in the energy transition process.
The conference agenda is under preparation and will include lectures of the established names of Croatian politics, science and industry and other experts. In addition to all the attractive professional content, the conference will also provide an excellent opportunity for knowledge sharing and networking.
Sustainable Student Conference
Climate change is one of the most important challenges of the 21st century. In order to mitigate climate change impact and keep the global temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius (in relation to the pre-industrial period), the whole world has started the process of the energy transition. This process brings significant changes to the power system we know today and requires an integrated approach from more professions.
The aim of this conference is to familiarize participants with challenges, implications, but most of all with the opportunities that energy transition brings, while also enabling dialog within panel discussion. Additionally, some of the solutions for the decarbonisation of transport and electricity generation will be demonstrated within the conference. The conference will be held on October 25, in the Grand Hall of the FSB. The conference is intended for students of technical, economics, natural and social sciences.
The conference agenda is under preparation and will include lectures of the established names of Croatian science, industry and other experts. In addition to all the attractive professional content, the conference will also provide an excellent opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange. Furthermore, the conference will also include the numerus entertainment activities.
