Mechanical Engineering in Energy Transition

Energy transition is moving forward all over the word and brings significant changes to the power generation sector. Decentralized electricity generation, shifting from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, electrification of transport, heating and cooling sector greatly changes the power system we know. All these changes have a significant impact on the role of mechanical engineering in the power engineering sector. The aim of this conference is to present which competencies of mechanical engineers are sought in the upcoming transition market and their role in the energy transition.

The conference will be held on October 24, 2019 in the Grand Hall of the FAMENA, and is primarily intended for industry representatives, entrepreneurs, politicians, scientists, representatives of civil society organizations and all stakeholders in the energy transition.

Within this conference, participants will find out about the challenges, implications and opportunities that energy transition brings to the mechanical engineers. Possibilities of collaboration between the Faculty and the industry will be presented as well, where entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their work and achievements. Additionally, the panel discussion will be organized within the conference, which will enable dialogue between important stakeholders in the energy transition process.

In addition to all the attractive professional content, the conference will also provide an excellent opportunity for knowledge sharing and networking.
